Violin Lesson for ages 6 and up
Our violin lessons are for both acoustic and electric violin. Beginners will start with basics like how to properly hold the instrument to arco and pizzicato styles, sight reading, intonation, double stops, vibrato, harmonics and musicianship. We welcome students who want to study classical, bluegrass, rock, and pop.
Are Shobo Music Academy's music instructors qualified?
Our violin faculty have received their musical education from such prestigious institutions as New York University, Manhattan School of Music, the Berklee College of Music to name a few. Many have toured the US and Europe, and bring over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons.
What will I learn from violin lessons at the Academy?
Whether you want to learn Bach, Mozart to Pop or Country our teachers are dedicated to helping you become the violinist you want to be. They will show you the fundamentals of music notation, sight reading, technique and theory while teaching your favorite songs.
Do I need a violin to learn the instrument?
You do not need a violin for the 1st lesson. You will need a violin to practice at home and we will gladly advise you as to where to rent or buy one.
Are there recitals?
Absolutely! Every June, our students have the opportunity to perform in world class recital halls with on a top of the line concert Grand piano.
